Workers Compensation
REOH's timely, specialized care and follow-up procedures help workers' return to work quickly. Because getting back to work often aids the healing process, we advocate a graduated return to work approach and will work with employers to achieve this goal.
Case Management
Nothing is more important in worker's comp cases than clear and direct communication between the employer, the injured employee, the attending physician, and the insurer. So as an integral part of our case management, REOH provides:
• An immediate return-to-work status report generated at the time of the worker's visit to the clinic
• Timely notification to the employer, in the event that the worker cannot return to work immediately
• Instructions for appropriate follow-up care
• A complete dictated report sent to the insurer with the bill
• Site visits to the workplace by Dr. John Schumpert, REOH's Medical Director and Occupational and Environmental Medicine physician, when needed to understand the work setting and eliminate sources of injury or illness
Fees
Fees are based on services provided, in accordance with the appropriate state worker's compensation fee schedule, and bills are typically sent directly to the employer's worker's comp insurance carrier. Employers are responsible for charges for the initial authorized visit, even if the injury is determined not to be work related.
Authorization
All visits must be pre-authorized by the worker's compensation insurance carrier. REOH can provide employers with a medical authorization form, complete with a map to the clinic.
Long Term Case Management
Since long term cases frequently involve several care givers, the staff at REOH is always available to meet with other medical professionals to assist in planning an appropriate recovery strategy for any given case. The treating physician may wish to visit the work site, as well, to look for possible needed modifications.
